Exploring Sacred Rest for the Nervous System through Yoga

In today’s world, tranquility is essential for mental health. The ancient practice of yoga offers restorative benefits that complement therapeutic principles in psychology. We have a special yoga workshop designed to enhance psychological and emotional balance: “Sacred Rest for the Nervous System – Yoga Workshop.

This workshop invites deep relaxation and rejuvenation. We use Yoga Nidra to replenish energy and soothe the nervous system. Known as yogic sleep, Yoga Nidra is a meditative state between wakefulness and sleep. It reduces stress, boosts emotional regulation, and improves sleep quality—key for psychological well-being.

Harmonising Body and Mind

Yoga transcends physical postures by incorporating mantra chanting and pranayama (guided breathing). These powerful techniques promote inner balance and are effective in managing anxiety and depression. Cultivating mindfulness and encourage living in the moment.

We will engage in strength-based Hatha Yoga practices. Expect grounding postures such as Child’s Pose, Supine twists, and Cat-Cow, targeting stability and resilience. We focus on healing through traditional Hatha Yoga and include joint-freeing sequences to support digestion—vital for mental health.

Embracing Sacred Rest and a Restorative Practice

Our session culminates in a restful Yoga Nidra practice led by Jasminder Bahia. Restoration is key in psychology for healing and growth. This guided relaxation propels participants into a deep state that facilitates healing: the body relaxes, and the mind awakens.
