This workshop will explore how Pranayama breathwork can be integrated into EMDR therapy to support emotional and physiological regulation. It is designed for therapists looking to improve their practice by learning techniques that enhance emotional stability and resilience throughout the therapeutic process.
Workshop Overview
Pranayama, a method of breath control, can be used alongside the EMDR 8-stage protocol to help clients regulate their emotions and body responses during sessions. This integration can improve client stability and readiness for processing, allowing for a more balanced therapeutic experience.
By combining Pranayama with EMDR, therapists can help clients maintain emotional regulation, which is essential for effective trauma processing. The workshop will also highlight how these techniques can be applied inclusively, in line with EEDI principles, ensuring that the therapy is accessible and sensitive to clients from diverse backgrounds.
Aims of the Workshop
Improving EMDR Therapy: Learn how Pranayama can enhance the EMDR 8-stage protocol, with a focus on emotional regulation and client stability.
Practical Application: Develop skills to integrate Pranayama techniques into EMDR sessions, ensuring they are appropriate for different client needs.
Inclusive Practice: Use culturally sensitive Pranayama techniques to create a more inclusive therapeutic environment, respecting the diverse backgrounds of clients.
